Faith Leaders Vigil

Those who uphold the painful history and values of the confederacy planned an assembly at Lee Park, Charlottesville, Virginia on Wednesday, May 31 at 10 AM.

Charlottesville religious leaders and religious communities have taken the lead in a counter-protest to defend and support racial justice, which will begin earlier Wednesday morning.

We bring our best gifts to affirm that Black Lives Matter and to work on dismantling structural and interpersonal racism. We reflect on recent White supremacist terrorist acts in Charlottesville and nationally, and we find it necessary to raise our voices. We call on White residents of Charlottesville in particular to end complicity in oppression, and not be scared into silence.

Please, give us your voices, your bodies, your faith. We need you.

We eagerly await your action.
